Fiji's Lomaiviti Vacations and Resort Accommodation
The blue waters bounded by Fiji's larger islands is called the Lomaiviti region. Lomaiviti is translated as "central Fiji".
So far unexploited by tourism, there are just a handful of island resorts available, offering tranquillity, breathtaking ocean views, tropical sunsets and more. The remote coral reefs of this region provide some magnificent diving opportunities so for scuba-divers or snorkellers, this is a good part of Fiji. Another feature of this region is that it requires either a domestic flight and/or boat transfer, or private charter float plane. The scenic journey adds to the ambience of your island paradise vacation.
Resort islands in this region include Toberua, Naigani, Wakaya and Ovalau. The Wakaya Club is one of Fiji's most exclusive and luxurious of all Fiji's destinations, chosen by many celebrities for their secluded vacation or honeymoon. Ovalau has a variety of small resorts and backpacker lodgings and hostels. Its quaint Colonial style town of Levuka was once the capital of Fiji, till it was relocated to Suva on the mainland.
