Fiji Budget Vacations Vacations Guide

Budget travellers are able to visit Fiji and find many low-cost vacations available. Cheap packages and all-inclusive tours provide good options for backpackers and tourists not wishing to over-spend on their holiday. Fiji Islands has long been a favourite destination for backpackers because it is well-placed on international air routes across the South Pacific, making it an ideal stopping off point. With the warm climate, abundance of affordable accommodation and ease of travelling around the different island groups, backpacking guests often stay for several weeks soaking up the sunshine and relaxing in this friendly destination.

Where to find budget accommodation

  • Nadi resorts, hotels and lodges
Popular Wailoaloa Beach area at Nadi Bay, as well as in Nadi Town and Martintar area. Also just outside of Nadi at Rendezvous Surf n Dive.

Cheap accommodation in Fiji can vary from place to place. There are still some very low-key backpacker dorms with share facilities and so on. However, due to demand in recent years, budget travellers have shown a keen preference for more stylish economical options, often with private rooms, ensuite facilities, Internet access, and good restaurants and bars. Fiji has accommodated this growing need and one can find quite a few 'flashpacker' style places. Worth noting is Nadi Bay Resort Hotel plus some of the Wailoaloa Beach options (e.g. Smugglers Beach, Aquarius Fiji). On the Coral Coast the Mango Bay Resort is proving very popular and has a great beach, plus a night club area! Safari tents are available there. In the Rakiraki area, try Volivoli Beach Resort.
